Jo Barry was born in Kent and holds a BA in Fine Art from Ravensbourne College of Art and Design. She taught at Byam Shaw School of Art, before becoming a full-time artist in 1981. Although Jo is one of the world’s finest living etchers, she also enjoys pencil drawings and working in watercolours. She was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers and also served as Honorary Secretary to the Society and as Vice-President. She works from her home in the New Forest (her beloved countryside), which gives her the inspiration for her work.
She is an invited etching demonstrator at Art-In-Action, Waterperry Oxford she also exhibits at the Royal Academy Summer Show as well as in galleries in the UK and the USA.
