JENNY MORGAN     RSMA   (Royal Society of Marine Artists)

Jenny was born in Woolwich, London in 1942. Growing up and living within view of the Thames sparked an early interest in ships. She attended Camberwell School of Art in the 1960s, gaining NDD (National Diploma in Design). She travelled extensively especially in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. She spent many years sailing aboard a friend’s yacht and later in her own boat (a replica gaff-cutter).

Jenny completed many works reflecting her sailing experiences as well as her ongoing interest in the deep-sea fishing industry and sold many works covering a large range of marine subjects.

She exhibits annually with the Royal Society of Marine Artists at the Mall Galleries, London as well as Gallery Marin (Appledore, Devon).

She had several solo exhibitions, including Waterman’s Fine Art in Jermyn Street, Central London, 3 shows at Coach House, latest in 2014. Her paintings and other work are in several galleries, including the Coach-house Gallery in Guernsey, Myton Gallery Hull, Kendall’s Fine Art in Cowes IOW, and Palm Avenue Fine Art, Sarasota, Florida USA. She has regular exhibitions at the Mystic International Marine Art Ex. Mystic USA.  She was introduced to HRH Princess Anne at a Marine Art Exhibition at the Royal Cornwall Polytechnic prior to the Tall Ships Race.

Her works are in many collections in the UK and overseas, including Australia. She completed many private commissions from UK, Switzerland and the USA.  American commissions included three large triptych type works depicting historic W.W.1 US Navy incident involving fourteen destroyers. For the same client, another work illustrating the Lewis/Clark expedition up the Missouri River, which included meetings with Native Americans. Also, an important commission in 2014 for the ‘Friends of Hermione Trust’ based in NY. This painting was raffled at a fund-raising gala in NY attended by Henry Kissinger, this was followed by another important commission of a dhow sailing ship for the Royal Courts of Oman.

She was elected a full member of RSMA late 2006, received the ‘CLASSIC BOAT AWARD’ at the Royal Society of Marine Artists annual exhibitions at the Mall Galleries in London, in 2008. In 2011 she received the ‘DEREK GARDNER DEEP SEAS AWARD,’ followed in 2016 by the DEREK GARDNER SEA AND SKY AWARD.’

Her works are sold regularly through Sotheby’s London, annual marine art sales, which attracts international buyers
